About us

Waste4Recycling, the recycling logistics organisation founded by Essex Eco-Entrepreneur Chris Moon, has supplied eco-bin. Chris designed the Eco-bin as a result of his own experience at home in wanting to facilitate kerbside collection. The result was 3 years of product design and prototyping, focus groups of householders, consultations with recycling officers and waste managers, culminating in the Defra funded field trials taking place across Essex.

Chris used Eco-Design principles to develop this product in conjunction with professional product designers and engineers. The product has received a number of accolades including being a finalist in the EEDA Run the Gauntlet Competition (see Press & Media) the largest business competition in the UK. Chris was a guest speaker at the LDA School for Environmental Entrepreneurs 2005 – a course in which he was a former participant. He has experience of advising large and small organisations on sustainability strategy and implementation and is a member of a local Eco-School Committee. He has a PhD from Imperial College, London, has lectured on numerous business and management courses and is the co-author of a book for the Economist.
